Revelation 21:4 "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
OBITUARY
Robert Stephen Gurrola was born April 5, 1959, in Los Angeles CA to parents Baudelia Avilez and Cruz Gurrola and had four siblings Debbie, Margaret, Tony and Dennis. He had 3 children, Jennifer Cherco, Robert Gurrola Jr. and Brooke Carney. He was also a grandfather to Yvette M Tiscareno, Marciano D Cherco Jr., Jonathon S Cherco, Marissa J Cherco, Alexcia M Gurrola, and Michael and a great grandfather to Sofia V Ramos. He was also a loving and caring husband to Anna Mercado Gurrola. Robert was also loved by his extended family through his marriage and by his beloved dogs Bea and little Lucky.
He was such a loving, kind and giving person, energetic, active always working out with his daily routines of riding his bike and lifting weights to “stay fit and young” as he would say in order to keep doing what was important in life taking care of his family. Robert worked for A Community of Friends as a Case Manager providing supportive services to former homeless individuals at Gower Apartments for the past two years. However, he had worked in this field for 15 years and impacted many lives through his devotion to help change people lives. He was amazing and effective in his career; he loved and cared for his residents and would always go above and beyond to help anyone in need to make things better. He understood them and related to their pain as he too had, had his struggles and challenges in life and just wanted everyone to be better, happier, and safe.
As my husband Robert, never went without a moment or day telling me how much he loved me and how beautiful I was, inside and out. Although we had our struggles, pains, and moments of resentments, he would always tell me “I am sorry Boo don’t be mad at me I love you never second guess that! You are my diamond” He always made me forgive and forget our struggles and keep loving him unconditionally. He would make me happy with his laughter, humor, his kisses, his tenderness but it was his strong and unconditional fidelity and loyalty not only to me, Jehovah, but our entire family and friends that kept me loving him and never second guessing his love.
The most important thing I would say to everyone to remember my beautiful husband by; He truly loved Jehovah and what he wanted for himself and for us both more than anything was to learn and live by his word devoting and serving him so we could teach our children, our families and all those who did not know the truth. So that they would be able to gain the hope and promise of Jehovah’s paradise.
I would like to thank and acknowledge Joseph and Angie Mendoza for coming into our lives, for loving my husband unconditionally teaching and reminding him that Jehovah loved him. That he could see into his heart that Robert really loved Jehovah and that one day he would see his paradise.
“BooBoo, I love you and will miss your physical presence, but I know that now you sleep are resting and at peace. Rest my love it is only a short time before I see you again and we will be in Jehovah’s paradise as we had planned; with you building our beautiful new home and our garden with all the love, joy, peace and happiness that awaits us.” Always....your Boo Anna Gurrola.
