Stanley Joseph Rokosz

Butch was born 10/2/1947 from parents, Stanley & Helen Rokosz (Kurdziel), in Ridley Park, PA. He graduated from St. James High Catholic School and then served as a Sgt. E4 in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1970 as an Intercept Operator and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked in the concrete business for 35 years as a quality control concrete technician.

Butch and Lucille married in 1971 and have two children, Mandi Scantzoulis and Michael Rokosz and 1 granddaughter, Tessa Scantzoulis. Most of their married life they lived in Swarthmore (15 years) & West Chester (25 years), PA before retiring in Cape Coral, FL in 2012.

Butch and Lucille were active members of County Corvette Association for 42 years. Butch always loved the sport of drag racing. Most all summer weekends he enjoyed auto-crossing his Corvettes and drag racing at Maple Grove and Cecil County Dragstrips. Lots of trophies to prove his passion for it! Butch was known for his dry sense of humor, quiet demeanor, but loved loud cars, and was a true gentleman.

After retiring, they moved to Cape Coral, Florida near several friends of over 50 years, and lived on a golf course. Of course, if you live on a golf course, he needed to take up golf! He was a recreational golfer who claimed that golfing was just an excuse to drink beer earlier in the day! In recent years, reading novels, solving crossword puzzles and playing computer solitaire became his primary hobbies.

A ‘Celebration of Life’ will be held May 11, 2024 at the Caloosa Club in the Cape Royal Golf Club community. Friends may visit between 4:30 PM and 7:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to “The Rokosz Family Trust”, specifically for the long-term care of his son, Michael S. Rokosz.
