Born in San Diego, CA, Tara brought brightness into every space she entered and touched countless lives with her warmth, laughter, and generous spirit.
Tara was the devoted mother of her beloved son, Teagen, who was the light of her life and her greatest source of pride. She encouraged his growth in both academics and athletics, celebrating every milestone with enthusiasm and love.
Tara shared an extraordinary bond with her sister, Cassie. The two were inseparable—true partners in life who navigated every season together. They created a lifetime of adventures with their children, filling birthdays, summer vacations, school functions, and holidays with laughter, traditions, and memories that will forever be cherished. Their relationship was a constant source of strength, joy, and unconditional love.
Tara is also survived by her parents, Steve Simet and Cheryl Tilley, and by her cherished nephews, Cayden, Cage and Cannon, whom she adored and cared for deeply.
From a young age, Tara embraced movement, discipline, and creativity. She was a member of the Tidewater Aquatic Swim Club from ages 6 to 9, and later, from ages 10-13, as a member of the Excalibur Gymnastics Team, she diligently trained to advance, and compete at the elite Level 10 for her team. Her favorite event—the floor routine—reflected her natural grace, strength, and expressive spirit.
Her love for children carried into her adult life, where she found joy in teaching basic tumbling to young children ages 3 to 6. Her patience, encouragement, and playful energy made her a favorite among her students and their families.
Creativity was woven into everything Tara did. She had a remarkable eye for color and personal style, a gift she carried into her professional life. A graduate of Rudy & Kelly Beauty Academy, Tara specialized in hair color and creative makeup, helping others express themselves with confidence and vibrancy.
Those who knew Tara will remember her for her radiant smile, her infectious laugh, and her ability to make the most of every moment—no matter the circumstance. She was known for her great big hugs, the kind that wrapped you in warmth. Tara approached life with resilience, compassion, and a heart full of light.
Tara’s presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the memories she created, the people she inspired, and the family she cherished above all else. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
