Born on July 22, 1952, Bobby was the son of the late Edith and Carl Gray Sr. of Avon, North Carolina. He carried with him the warmth, strength, and coastal spirit of his roots throughout his life.
Bobby was known for his kind and friendly spirit and for the joy he brought to those around him. Always ready with a smile, a laugh, or a song, he loved being around people and never missed a chance to celebrate life. A singer and guitar player, he enjoyed sharing music with friends and family. He also loved playing pool, spending time at the beach, and gathering with those he loved.
Above all, Bobby loved his family. His greatest pride and joy were his daughters and granddaughters, whom he cherished deeply. He loved his girls fiercely and treasured every moment spent with them.
Bobby was predeceased by his older brother, Carl Jr., his “Big Bur,” with whom he shared a deep bond. Bobby is survived by his daughters, Nicole and Reghann; his three beloved granddaughters, Kayden, Abby, and Eden; his sister, Carolyn; his brother, Dean and sister-in-law, Debra; his nephew and nieces, Carl III, Gina, Denise and her husband Heath, Ruby and her husband Austin. He also leaves behind Greg and many other dedicated lifelong friends, numerous cousins, extended family members, and his church family at Victory Worship Church in Norfolk, Virginia, all of whom will miss him tremendously.
Bobby was a fighter and tough as nails. Though cancer took his body, it never touched his spirit. He will be remembered for his laughter, his music, his strength, and the love he shared so freely with those around him.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
