

Wiltse B. Courtney, Jr. of Leesburg, FL, formerly of Camillus, NY, passed away December 27, 2023. He was born in Syracuse, NY on January 28, 1937. Wiltse was predeceased by his parents Hulda and Wiltse, Sr., and sister Kori-Ann. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ann (McKaig) Courtney, children Scott (Cynthia), June D’Angelo (Daniel), Charles (late Nancy), 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, his brother Glidden and several nieces and nephews.
Wiltse was in the last class to graduate from Camillus High School in 1955. He served 8 years in the US Coast Guard Reserve. Over his 86 years Wiltse enjoyed an active, athletic life. He was an avid deer hunter and golfer. He participated in leagues including bowling, archery, pistol, trap, horseshoes, softball, baseball, basketball and of course golf. He loved his motorcycle, traveling several times cross country with his wife Ann and friends and also enjoyed performing on stage with our local community theatre.
During his 39 years employed at Pass & Seymour he went from Tool & Die Maker to manufacturing engineer as well as teaching Work Simplification, serving as the Division II President (of 5 states) for the International Management Council, became a Certificated Toast Master and earned a 2 year degree from ACC. He retired from Volpe Manufacturing in 1998.
He had been an active member in the Jordan United Methodist Church holding several positions. In retirement Wiltse continued his membership in Jordan Masonic Lodge #386 where he was Past Master, joined Bahia Shrine Temple of Orlando, Lake County Shrine club and affiliated with Tigris Shrine of Syracuse. There will be a Masonic Service at the Jordan, NY Lodge on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11 AM followed by a Celebration of Wiltse’s life with family and friends.
