He was born December 31, 1932 in Berwyn, Illinois to the late Kenneth and Vaulda Jensen.
He graduated from St. John’s Military Academy, and from there got degrees from Ripon College, and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. In between his college degrees he served his time in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant in Germany.
He loved his wife, his family, his church, volunteering, and social activities. His activities included playing golf, doing crafts and woodworking, gardening, playing cards and board games, and traveling the world, which included all the continents. He volunteered at church, ushered at many theaters, and worked at golf tournaments including the Arnold Palmer Invitational. But he was the happiest when he could spend time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Roberta, of Altoona, FL; two daughters, Wendy of Greenville, SC, and Suzanne of Lynchburg, VA; four grandchildren, Kathryn of Charleston, SC, Alyssa of Greenville, SC, Walter of Lynchburg, VA, and Roberta of Hackensack, NJ; a nephew and two nieces.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother Vaulda, his father Kenneth, and his brother Ronald.
A memorial service for immediate family will be held sometime in May in the chapel at Hope Lutheran Church, The Villages.
