Born in Oak Park, IL to parents Mary and Bill Sr, and sister Pat.
Bill was actively involved in sports throughout his youth, particularly baseball, basketball, and football. He attended Western Illinois University, graduated with a BS in education in 1964; it was at WIU where he met the love of his life, Jean (Marsh) Hunter.
Bill was a wonderful dad to Cheryl (Bruce) Janu and Keith Hunter, grandpa to Brennan, Quinn and Logan, and a very proud uncle. Bill and family enjoyed many summers at their cottage on Long Lake, WI where they fished, boated, and spent time with lifelong friends.
Bill first worked as a PE teacher then salesman for Shell Oil Co, later owning and managing his own Shell service station in Rolling Meadows, IL. He left the gas industry to work in sales for Anheuser-Busch where he worked until retirement.
He and Jean built a house and moved to The Villages in 2004 where he loved to golf and enjoy a cigar with the guys; he cherished the relationships he established with friends at meetings.
The last few years he was a resident at Buffalo Crossings ALF where he often said the staff and residents felt like family.
He is preceded in death by his sister and wife.
