Terrance Michael Roddy

Terrance “Mickey” Roddy , 78, of The Village of Piedmont, The Villages, FL, passed away on August 23, 2026 after a brief illness. Mickey was born in Sheldon VT to Terrance & Bernolene (Messier) Roddy, and grew up in Enosburg Falls, where he met his high school sweetheart, Gisele Desnoyers. Mickey had many stories of his life in Enosburg, and still maintains a close friendship with many of his childhood friends. He entered the Navy in 1966, and was proud of his service as a radioman on the USS Fiske, and lucky to be on ship with his brother, David.

After being discharged from the Navy, Mickey worked for New England Telephone & Telegraph as a line-man, and married his sweetheart. Together they made a life in Enosburg & St Albans, VT before relocating to Portland, ME and then to Boston, MA as the company went through various changes, ultimately as Verizon. They lived in Hudson, MA for 23 years and raised their children, Jennifer and Patrick.

At 54, Mickey retired and they moved to The Villages in FL, where he happily lived for exactly 24 years to the day. He was an avid golfer, loved to play pickleball and would spend time at the beach whenever he could. Mickey was a man who could not sit still and loved projects. He was always willing to help out a friend, or neighbor in need. Often using his knowledge to be the handyman for those unable to do the work themselves. He was always re-imagining his landscaping, changing his interior, coming up with ingenious storage ideas, and generally puttering his way through life.

He was an easy-going gentleman with an irreverent sense of humor that made him approachable and easy to be around. He would make everyone comfortable and feel welcome. He will be missed by the many friends he’s made throughout his life, from his community in Vermont and Hudson, MA to his gumba’s in FL.

Mickey leaves behind his beloved wife of 55 years, Gisele (Desnoyers), his daughter Jennifer and husband Robert Lavallee Jr, and 3 children William Armstrong, Kalyn and Jason Lavallee; His son Patrick, and his wife Heidi (Sullivan) Roddy and 2 sons Finnian and Macklen; his sister Sandra (Roddy) Bacon, his sister in-law Georgette (Gagne) Roddy, his siblings in-law Bernard Desnoyers and partner Denise, Adele Duval, Luc & Antoinette Desnoyers, Sylvain & Linda Desnoyers, and numerous loved nieces and nephews, including Rejean Desnoyers who also lived in the Villages and assisted with his many projects. He had many friends whom he considered family, Pamela and Dennis Merchant, their children and extended family, Jennifer Summers and the Serafino family. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother David Roddy.
