

Scott Thomas Smith, son of the late Charles Smith and Doris Smith, was born on July 10, 1957, in Baltimore, Maryland. He passed away on July 13, 2024, three days after his 67th birthday.
He is survived by his three sons, Austin, Zach and Travis, his granddaughters McKenzie and Anastasia, his grandson Kayden, his sisters Linda, Leslee and Cheryl, his brother Jeff, his daughters-in-law Taylor and Min Seon, and his step granddaughter Nyla.
He is preceded in death by his wife Kathleen, his parents Charles and Doris, and his brother Charles.
Scott was a 1976 graduate of Woodlawn High School in Baltimore.
He played tenor saxophone and was a member of the Baltimore Colts marching band. He first attended Frostburg State University, then later transferred to Towson University where he received his bachelor’s degree in business in 1980. He worked as a supervisor for UPS for 32 years. In retirement, he worked as a public school bus driver.
Scott was an adventurer and often went hiking and camping. He loved cross-country driving and would go on long road trips and stop at sightseeing spots and key landmarks. He also loved golfing and could regularly be seen at his local golf course golfing with friends and family.
Scott believed in giving back to his community and spent many hours volunteering and helping others. He spent countless hours volunteering for Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Eldersburg, Maryland. After his wife Kathy suffered a stroke in 2018, he began volunteering for Voices of Hope for Aphasia, which helps stroke victims and others with a language disorder that causes difficulty speaking, understanding, reading and writing. Scott was awarded the Legacy of Love award from the Head for the Cure foundation in 2022 for his dedication to his wife during her recovery.
