

Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Darlene.
Bob was proud to have lived in The Villages since 2000, enjoying every day.
He grew up in Norfolk Virginia and attended Norview High School, Class of 1962. He played football for 4 years, and Darlene was a cheerleader for 3 years.
This just had to be where their story begins.
Bob's first job was at Mary Jane Bread in Norfolk, where he playfully said, "It is a Crumby job but I'm always in the Dough". His sense of humor was always present during his life.
Thereafter, he started his career of 46 years in the automobile business at Bruce Flournoy Ford, Norfolk, in sales and service. He presented himself as professional and climbed the ladder to General Manager of the dealership.
Bob continued his automobile career at Hall Auto World, Virginia Beach. Not long after, he was offered the General Manager position at Hall Newmarket Hyundai in Newport News, Va. and thereafter General Manager of Hall Ford, Newport News.
Bob enjoyed golf and boating during his working days. He enjoyed cleaning the boat as much as "taking her out".
In 2000 Bob and Darlene retired to The Villages, Florida, spending time on Golf, Softball, Biking, relaxing and driving his golf cart. He is proud of making 3 hole in one's. He has witnesses to each one. His love of golf, placed him later at Palmer Legends Golf Club, where he rose to Assistant Facility Manager. He was there over 10 years.
Bob is preceded in death by mother, Oppie Bane(Mawd) of West Virginia, and father Robert W. Houston(Pawd) Iowa.
Bob is survived by his sister, Terri Lynn Nelson, of Chesapeake,Va.
Bob is survived by his son, Robert N. Houston, Jr. of Norfolk, who owned and operated Bert Built, Chesapeake, Va. before he retired.
Bob's grandson, Ryan Carson Houston, of Virginia Beach, Va. and 3 great grandchildren complete the Houston family tree.
This limb of the Family Tree has fallen, but remember he was always strong.
