Robert L. Hennessy

He was born on June 18, 1935 in Winona, MN to Clifford Hennessy and Grace Hicks Hennessy. Bob grew up in Winona with his sisters Joyce and Sharon. He held his Minnesota roots close to his heart through his life. He graduated from University of Minnesota with a mechanical engineer degree and joined the Controlled Data Corp where he rose to Senior Vice President. He opened computer disk plants in Omaha, NE, Rapid City, SD, and then lived in Portugal. He also had a plant in Romania, England and Wales. Bob received the Queens Award, the highest honor of excellence, presented by the Duke of Wales Prince Charles, in Wales.

Bob retired and moved to The Villages, Florida in 2002. He loved the good life and sunshine. He became a clown in Clown Alley 129, he loved to bring some laughter to residents of nursing homes. Bob played golf three times a week with his best friend Clem Haley, played bridge, samba and 500. He loved his dog Kelly who was by his side all the time. He was also the visionary mentor for Beverly as founder of The Villages Art Workshops and Personally Yours, a pottery business. Bob was loved by everyone who knew him.

Bob was preceded in death by his father Clifford Hennessy, his mother Grace Hicks Hennessy, his brother John (Jack), and his first wife, Margarette.

He is survived by his second wife Beverly of 27 years; two sisters: Joyce Hennessy and Sharon (Bruce) Elliasen; sister in law Mary Leary; brother in law John (Teresa) Senglaub; two daughters: Kathleen Toering and Elizabeth Hennessy; two sons: David (Ann) and Joseph (Carla); four step sons: William, Robert (Ressa), Daniel (Deborah), and Terrence (Jennifer).

He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life Funeral mass will be held on Friday October 25, at 8:30 am, family, close friends should arrive at 8:00 am, at St Timothy Catholic Church, 1351 Page Place, Lady Lake, Florida 32159. Followed by a reception in the Social Hall. Live stream link: www.sttimothycc.com
