

Robert (Bob) Avery of The Villages passed away on October 1, 2025. at the age of 77. His wife and sister were at his side. He was born on March 27, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky and grew up in Connecticut and Syracuse, NY. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in Dewitt, NY and Syracuse University.
Bob worked in wine sales and distribution for over 30 years prior to retirement. While living in The Villages, he attended St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Lady Lake and volunteered in the kitchen at Cornerstone Hospice. He faithfully collected rain readings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Mary Ellen Avery, and is survived by his wife, Pamela, two sisters, SJ Avery and Marilyn Avery and Pam’s children, Mike O’Connell and Sarah Sullivan.
Bob loved his family, golf and was a keen cook, with an advanced degree in grilling. He was known for his loyalty and had a quick and wicked sense of humor, which earned him the nickname “sniper” among his golfing buddies.
The family would like to thank Cornerstone for the care and compassion they showed Bob in his final days.

A mass for Bob will be held at St. Timothy's Catholic Church in The Villages on Thursday, November 6 at 8:30AM. A Celebration of Life will be held at Captiva Rec Center on Pinellas Place on Sunday, November 9 from 1-4 PM.
