Raymond "Ray" J. Bauer

Ray was a graduate of Busch High School (1951) and the Lawrence Institute of Technology (1964). He served in the U.S. Army and, while stationed in Germany, received a National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged in April 1955.

In 1957, Ray married Kathleen Carol Cronin. He was employed by the General Motors Tech Center (Warren, MI) and retired after 36 years of service at the age of 55.

Ray was an avid sportsman who enjoyed being on basketball, baseball, and hockey teams, and he embraced an active life that included golfing, skiing, swimming, and rollerblading. He also had a special talent for making his house into a comfortable living space, both indoors and out—always with a project underway on the workbench or in the yard. His finished projects were beautiful, reflecting a steady hand, care, and pride in work well done.

Ray is survived by his brother, Kenneth; multiple cousins; daughters, Laura Inger(Tracy), Janice Dunham, and Brenda Hack(Greg); grandchildren, Kristin Inger(Joey Sullivan), Hilliary Inger(Travis Sperry), Evan Inger, Jacob Hahn(Wei Jiao), Robbie Dunham, Aaron Hack(Sam), and Duncan Hack(Mikayla); and great-grandchildren, Ryder & Kai Sullivan, Layla & Scarlett Sperry, and Elianna Hahn.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Olga Bauer; and sisters, Clara Webb and Ruth Prauener.

Graveside Service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan on Monday November 9th at 12:30 pm.
