Marilyn was born in Whitestone, New York on December 31, 1936.
She leaves behind Edward Wood of Summerfield, FL, her devoted husband of 41 years as well as eight children: Thomas Bock and his wife Barbara of Bayonne, NJ, Robert Bock and his wife Janice of Amherst, NH, Christopher Bock and his wife Cherrie of Henderson, NV, James Bock and his wife Karen Rands of Peachtree City, GA, Kathleen McLinden and her partner David Hall of Nashua, NH, Karen Aucoin and her husband John of Stow, MA, Natalie Stack and her husband Shawn of Palm Harbor, FL and Edward Wood Jr. and his wife Laura Of Homosassa, FL. In addition, she leaves 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Marilyn’s great passion was her family. She loved bringing her geographically disbursed family together by hosting Thanksgiving dinners and planning a family cruise for her 25th anniversary. Marilyn’s love for her children had no bounds. A running theme at family gatherings was always each one saying to the others, “I am mom’s favorite” – and believing it. Her love for her children was only outdone by her love for her husband Ed. Their bond served as a model for the family as they always put the family’s needs in front of their own.
Marilyn and Ed retired to Del Webb Spruce Creek resort in Summerfield, Florida in 2005. There they made many friends while enjoying Bocce, Horseshoes, dinners at the clubhouse and social engagements. One of her favorite holidays was Halloween where trick or treating entailed bringing your wine glass around the neighborhood.
Marilyn will be missed by all those who knew her. Dates for a memorial service will be announced at a later time.
