Kathleen E. Smith

Kathleen Elizabeth Smith, daughter of the late Jim Flanagan and Elizabeth Flanagan, was born on June 19th, 1961 in Catonsville, Maryland. She passed away on January 8th, 2022 at the age of 60. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Scott Smith, her three sons, Austin, Zachary, and Travis, and her granddaughter McKenzie Elizabeth Smith.

She was a graduate of Mount de Sales Academy in Catonsville. She worked as a Nurse’s Assistant at Northwest Hospital and as a Special Education Assistant at Liberty High School and Oklahoma Road Middle School in Eldersburg. She was a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church.

Kathleen survived cancer twice during her childhood and lived her life with a fighting spirit. She raised her three sons with that same spirit and loved them dearly. She was a devoted wife to her husband and spent the last 40 years by his side.

Kathleen had a smile that could light up rooms and made everyone she met feel like her family. She was a passionate follower of Jesus Christ and believed in the golden rule of treating others how you would treat yourself.
