He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Brenda Thomason and daughter Rebecca Thomason. He is predeceased by his daughter Rachel Thomason and son Christopher Thomason.
John graduated from Plymouth High School and received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Cleary College. He worked in Accounting with Ford Motor Company and retired after 30 years of service. His goal was to be retired as long as he worked at Ford and he accomplished that in August of 2026.
He loved to play golf, travel and spend time with family and friends. He was an avid fan of Football and especially Michigan State University as well as enjoying a small glass of scotch with friends. For many years, John coached youth soccer and baseball with the recreation center in Plymouth. Later he assisted coaching with the high school basketball teams.
There will not be a funeral service and if anyone wishes, they make a donation to the American Heart Association in his memory.
