John (Jim) J. Rymarcsuk of Ocala, Florida, age 86, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Jim was born on March 29, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Phyllis (Pilch) and John Rymarcsuk. He grew up In Chicago and was a faithful Roman Catholic all his life. Jim attended St. Ladislaus Elementary School and Lane Technical High School. Jim was the first of his family to go to college, starting at Wright Junior College in Chicago, and then transferring to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Jim started his career in public accounting with Wolf & Co. in Chicago and passed the exam to be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1960. Jim served in the US Army, stateside, from June 1960 to June 1962 and was on reserve until his official discharge in May 1966. Several months before his official discharge Jim met Marguerite (Marge) Siuda (nee Swierk), at a St. Ladislaus singles group event. Marge was a widow with a young daughter. They were engaged 5 months later and married on November 26, 1966, at St. Ladislaus. Jim selflessly adopted her daughter, Robin, as his own. Jim and Marge lived in Chicago for a year before moving to a new home in Mt. Prospect, Illinois, in late 1967, to raise their family which then included an infant son, David. Jim enjoyed fishing, bowling and golf and loved the show MASH and watched the show repeatedly on DVD, along with live basketball, football, and PGA tournaments. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and was part of the honor guard at multiple events as Robin and David were growing up, even jokingly suggested he would wear his Knights of Columbus uniform at Robin’s wedding. His career included various roles at RCA Corporation, Arlington Heights Racetrack (Madison Square Garden), Chicago White Sox, and Thomson Newspapers, where he developed a strong state tax specialization. Jim went back to public accounting in a senior tax manager role, first with Ernst & Young, and then with Arthur Andersen, retiring in 1999. In October 2000, Jim and Marge sold their family home in Mt. Prospect and moved to Ocala, Florida, to enjoy their retirement and continue to golf and bowl, meet new friends, and gain new experiences. They discovered a love for international travel and had the opportunity to take multiple trips around the world over the past 20 years, the last one to Madeira, Portugal, in May 2019.
