David Walter Slauter

With love and gratitude for a life well lived, we remember David (Dave) Walter Slauter, who passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the age of 82. Dave was born on July 30, 1943, in Meriden, Connecticut.

Dave graduated from Martin County High School in Stuart, Florida, in 1961, and later served in the United States Air Force.

Dave devoted many years of his career to Otis Elevator, where he retired as a Regional Manager.

Dave was an active member of Mariner United Methodist Church in Spring Hill, Florida. He found joy in golfing and especially treasured time spent with good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Slauter and Nelle Slauter.

Dave leaves behind his beloved wife, Joycelyn (Joy) Slauter; his sister, Dreena Miller; and many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and one great-grandnephew.

Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in remembrance of Dave at a Memorial Service on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513. Please arrive at the entrance no later than 12:15 p.m., where you will be escorted to the service site.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dave’s memory to the Humane Society of Hernando County.
