

He was born on Flag Day, June 14,1935, in Kansas City, MO., from Kindergarten through the eighth grade, He was confirmed, at Immanuel Church, at the age of thirteen. He then attended the Kansas City East High School, graduating in 1953.
At the time of his passing, he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Summerfield, Fl.
Dave worked at several jobs in sales, plumbing supply, and construction. Because construction was an on and off work experience, he entered the Federal Civil Service. His 33-year career began as a GS-2 clerk, and ended when he retired as Chief of Automation Development, for the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service in Washington, DC at the grade of GM-14.
Dave served ten years in the MO. National Guard, being honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant.
In his younger years, Dave enjoyed quail and pheasant hunting, with his beloved Brittany Spaniels, Happy and Lady. He also enjoyed duck and goose hunting. He was also an avid if only adequate golfer.
Dave was known for his sense of humor. He could tell a joke on just about any subject, usually clean.
Dave married Carol Ann Elkins on April 23, 1955. That marriage was blessed with two daughters: Dana LeaAnn and Laura Suzanne. The marriage ended in divorce.
Dave later married Carolyn June Macy nee Sprinkle, on August 30, 1968. She blessed his life for 51 years before passing, in 2020, from the effects of Alzheimer's disease. In addition to her love and support, she brought him a step son, Scott Richard Macy.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carolyn, daughter Dana Worthington, and grandson Jimmy Woody. He also missed his little friend Chumlee.
He is survived by his daughter Laura Woody (Danny), step son Scott Macy, granddaughters, Amanda Worthington, Darla and Grace Woody, grandsons, Brad Worthington and Christopher Woody, step granddaughters Kara Macy and Savannah Gills (Curtis). He also leaves seven great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. His ashes will be interred, beside his wife, at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Hutchinson KS..
