Barbara Curtis Coffey
March 23, 1937 – May 20, 2022
Barbara Curtis Coffey, ND, of Hingham, MA, passed away on Friday, May 20th, 2022, at the age of 85. Barbara was born on March 23, 1937, in Boston, MA. Barbara grew up in Weymouth, MA with her three sisters, Judith, Susan, and Lynne. She settled in Hingham, MA and was always so very proud to say that her grandchildren were the sixth generation to grow up in this lovely town. Barbara Curtis Coffey spent her lifetime helping others. She focused her career studying and practicing natural health issues, remedies, and correctives. In 2000, Barbara formed The Natural Health Group and as Director, maintained an active family practice, working with clients to improve health and enhance lives through natural means. As a Doctor of Naturopathy, Barbara taught fundamental healing powers and how they can prevent illness and disease as well as restore the body to a more natural state of well-being. In addition to using modern technology and techniques, Barbara developed specialized skills in this 200-year-old technique while training under numerous Homeopathy experts nationally and abroad. She served an internship at The Homeopathic Clinic for the poor in Mumbai, India, and traveled to impoverished nations as both a volunteer and missionary to treat orphans, their caregivers, and residents of surrounding villages. Barbara practiced medicine until the age of 78. Above all else, Barbara put her faith in the Lord. Her unwavering belief in Jesus has earned her a special seat in heaven, where she can now rest with her predeceased son, Larry E. Norve’. Barbara was actively involved in the Church of the Lakes in Leesburg, FL, following Pastor Doug Anderson of Walking with Jesus, a ministry which values all that serve the Lord with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Most recently she made her home in Leesburg, FL, where she enjoyed the warm weather, riding in her golf cart, and participating in bible studies with friends. Despite Barbara’s pint size frame, she had more strength and fight than most. Her lessons to follow the Lord, BELIEVE, trust in the Lord, love, be compassionate…are lessons that those who had the privilege of knowing her will remember. Barbara Curtis Coffey is survived by her two daughters, Colleen M. Norve’ of Hingham, MA, and Michelle K. Norve’ of Leesburg, FL. Barbara is also survived by her four grandchildren, Ryan K. Sullivan, Curtis T. Cheney, Christopher L. Norve’ and Nicole C. Norve’. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Walking with Jesus, 27313 Racquet Circle, Leesburg, FL 34748, to the attention of Pastor Doug Anderson on behalf of Barbara Curtis Coffey.
