Timothy J Killoren, 69, Sarasota, formerly of Chicago, IL died April 30, 2011. A memorial service will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Savannah Grand Assisted Living Residence, with a Celebration of Life at a later date. Survivors include his mother, Veronica, two aunts and many cousins.
Tim was born and raised in Chicago. He attended St. Viator grammar school and St. Patrick H.S. He graduated from Southern Illinois University, where he studied art, architecture and business.
After college he joined the Air Force Reserve, from which he resigned his commission as a Lieutenant and received an honorable discharge after many years of service.
During his business career he lived, worked and owned businesses in the Chicago area; Georgetown, KY; Memphis, TN; Orchard Lake, MI; and since 1991, in Sarasota and Venice, FL. He loved every place he lived and made friends wherever he went.
As a partner in West Coast Architectural Precast, he was the artistic force behind the decorative precast designs for many residential, commercial and government projects; including restoration work at the Sarasota County Courthouse and Ringling Museum of Art. After selling WCAP he began yet another career as a residential builder.
Tim liked all sports, but his first love was tennis, and as a long time member of the Bath & Racquet Club he made many close friends with his outgoing friendly personality.
He was an accomplished artist, a lover of music and theater, an international traveler, and was always enthusiastic about learning new things and sharing his knowledge with others.
Most of all Tim was a good son who took loving care of his dad and his mom, Ronnie. Tim will be greatly missed and always remembered by his extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes or Heart Association or Tidewell Hospice.
Arrangements under the direction of National Cremation & Burial Society, Sarasota, FL.
