November 24, 1938 – April 16, 2026
Bob Wick passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion to family, and a life well lived.
Bob is survived by his son, Dean Wick, and his wife, Susan Lachner Wick. He was a proud grandfather to April (Pitzen) Rafko and Amy (Dais) Liberto, and a loving great-grandfather to Joshua, Ella Mae, Parker, Quinn, Kameron, and Grayson. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Judy (Backes) Wick, and his daughter, Melissa (Wick) Dais.
Bob married his high school sweetheart—becoming engaged as seniors—and together they built a beautiful life over 56 years of marriage, raising their family and traveling the world.
Twelve years ago, Bob reconnected with Susan, and together they found a new chapter filled with joy, companionship, and adventure. They loved playing miniature golf, traveling, and spending winters as snowbirds escaping the Wisconsin cold. Bob especially cherished taking Sue to some of his favorite places, including Hawaii. They enjoyed gathering with friends at the community center to socialize and play cards, and were deeply grateful to have found each other later in life. Their love for one another was strong and unwavering.
Bob had a passion for staying active and social, enjoying hobbies such as golf (playing many courses out of state), bowling, pickleball, and card games. A lifelong animal lover, he was once a devoted dog enthusiast who later became just as fond of cats.
He spent the majority of his career at Cutler Hammer/Eaton, where he worked for many years before retiring in 1997. In 1979, Bob made the move to Florida, where he continued to build a life filled with friendships, faith, and family. Bob was deeply involved in his church community and proudly served as head usher for many years.
Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends. Bob will be remembered for his steady presence, his dedication to those he loved, and the many memories he created along the way. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, July 12th at 12:00 pm at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 7461 Prospect Rd, Sarasota, FL 34243. Lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to make a donation in his honor to The American Heart Association.
