Born in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Margaret Rudnick, she later met and married James ‘Jim’ O’Connor, her husband of nearly 64 years. Margaret lived a life with a large-spirit, defined by faith and her consistent dedication to the comfort and well-being of those around her. While she held many titles throughout her life—compassionate daughter, supportive sister, loyal wife, loving mother, avid quilter, dedicated volunteer, her favorite by far, was being called "Gramm" to 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Margaret’s legacy lives on through her five children: Jim (Sherry) O’Connor, Elizabeth O’Connor Hubek [Rob Hubek], Christine O’Connor Hubek, Tom (Dara) O’Connor, and Margaret Winter.
She was the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren, Olivia (Moe) Sheppard and Daniel O’Connor; Matthew (Meghan) Hubek, Jonathan Hubek and Sarah Hubek; Emily Rodriguez, Allyson Hubek and Kathryn Hubek; Thomas O’Connor, Jr., Patrick O’Connor, Sunna O’Connor and Benjamin O’Connor; Theodore Winter and Samuel Winter.
The family will forever cherish memories of many summers spent together on Round Lake.
She was also blessed with 3 great-granddaughters, Angeline Hubek, Ameila O’Connor and Anita Sheppard who brought a special sparkle to her eyes in her final years.
Margaret touched many with her passion for the creative arts.
Her genuine love for quilting and her membership in the Hayward Piecemakers Quilt Guild gave her the opportunity to participate in quilting projects made for their Community Outreach, which was dear to her heart.
Her love for baking included volunteer cookie baking at Tamarack Health Care Center and pie making for Round Lake Fire Department at Moose Lake Festival.
She was a dedicated volunteer for Ruby’s Pantry and Northwoods Community Food Shelf.
She donated her time, talents and treasures effortlessly.
She was preceded in death by her Parent’s Joseph and Margaret Rudnick and her brother Joseph Rudnick, Jr.
A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held on Saturday May 23 at Spider Lake Church located at 12104 N Lower Twin Lake Rd, Hayward, WI 54843 at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to: Sherman & Ruth Weiss Community Library, PO Box 917, Hayward, WI 54843, an organization where she was a patron, volunteer and that was very close to her heart.
