To say Linda was a force to be reckoned with is a vast understatement. Anyone in her orbit will attest to this. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and took anyone who was willing along
with her. She was gregarious, courageous, loving, and generous. She had a capacity for warmth that prompted one customer of Larry’s to remark that the Luchi hospitality was legendary.
Linda was the youngest of five children of Pascal (Pat) and Margaret Giampaolo. She was only five years old when her father suddenly passed away. This wasn’t the only hurdle she faced. She had cancer in her 20s and many, many health issues in her 50s. She handled them all in typical Linda fashion -- brave and nonchalant about the entire matter.
Linda found a career in sales, whether real estate or copying/printing services. She had her father’s gift for it and was very much like him. Linda met Larry Luchi when she worked for
him at his printing business. In true Linda fashion, her outspokenness led to a few conflicts with him but that soon turned to mutual respect, then affection, then love. Larry was the love of her life, and she made it her mission in life to see he received the best of care both before and during his illness.
Together, Linda and Larry had Dominic. He became the center of their universe. When it became clear that he needed specialized education, Linda worked tirelessly to find him the best educational opportunities available. She started her 501(c) (3), S.O.U.L. (Support Our Unique Learners), which provided services to the special education students at St. William Catholic School in Walled Lake, where Dominic attended. She also took the program to Our Lady of the Lakes High School when he attended there.
Linda is survived by her son Dominic Pascal Luchi; Larry’s children Meghan (Jeff) and Kevin (Samantha) Luchi; and grandchildren Henry and Evelyn. She is also survived by her siblings Tom Giampaolo, Nancy (Mark) Ruggeri, and Dave Giampaolo, as well as her nieces and nephew, all of whom adored her. She also leaves behind hundreds of heartbroken friends. Her kind of magic is hard to come by.
