A proud father and husband. A first-rate brother-in-law, always willing to help and to advise. A multi-talented man, we’ve been in awe of Jerry’s technical prowess since first meeting 25+ years ago. 
Jerry’s determination to overcome health issues over many years is an example to us all.

This is hard because you don't want to believe it.
Most extraordinary man born on the same day as I was and we have very different talents than I have (Star readers beware}  .Always very jolly and with love in his heart although it didn't always show externally because it was a shyness about him as well as a great deal of joy and fun.An amazing man who changed many lives extraordinary inventor to whom nothing was impossible.
 Wish I could've seen more of him over the end years but did have the joy of zooms and A stream of his jokes which was particularly nice as you could imagine him chortling away as he sent them.

Uncle Jerry always had a fascinating story to tell. As a young boy growing up, we looked forward to our meet ups with the family. We could always expect to come away with yet more stories of his exploits, or get to see another one of his engineering marvels. 
And now our children have also enjoyed seeing pictures and videos of his car builds. Fond memories indeed.
We are immensely proud to have our own Nigel Mansell in the family.
Jerry, you will be sorely missed.

We are so grateful to have had the pleasure of knowing Jerry and visiting Jerry and Karen whenever we were in Florida.  We very much enjoyed the lively conversations, his deep knowledge of such a broad range of subjects, his passion for cars and his great sense of humour.

He was an inspiration in the way he was so dedicated to managing his own health and especially his dedication to walking.  Fond memories of Forest Gump come to mind!   He even worked out how many miles he would get per pair of running shoes.  

Jerry is gone before his time and we will miss him.

There are so many wonderful memories of Jerry (Cluso), it is hard to know where to begin!
From exploring the farm at Buckland village at the weekend while you were all watching the GP and eating fondue around the dining table, to curry nights where he and Rogar tried to outdo each other to eat the spiciest curry with sweat pouring off them!
Whole days of BBQ’s under the lanai and trying to jump onto Clarence (the inflatable crocodile) in the pool without falling off. Adventuring in the boat and exploring the islands and waterways around Siesta Key and the time we had to take shelter from the thunderstorm under a bridge! 
Trips to theme parks to give us kids the adrenaline rush we needed, often resulted in Jerry joining in – particularly on the water rides. Jerry’s love for water didn’t stop there, and boating quite often was a daily activity for us whenever we were in Florida. In the early days he also taught us how to waterski and was a patient teacher! One funny memory involved the loss of Rogar’s beloved (or loathed from Barrel’s perspective!) pink hat which blew away, lost to the drink. Cluso however turned the boat around and went back for it. Perched atop our father’s head, it proceeded to leach pink dye down the sides of his face which Cluso found hilarious!
We are so deeply sorry for your loss, Jerry was a big part of our lives growing up and we will always remember him fondly. Sending love and condolences from Danielle and Hannah (Adam) xxxx


My husband and I always counted ourselves lucky to have had Jerry and Karen as neighbors on Siesta Key for years. 
There were many good times together and great discussions. 
These included solving things from world problems to house fixtures. 
     Thinking back, I have  good memories of small things like the sound of Jerry’s special car leaving the garage  or the sight of him arriving back home  after one of those long walks and I wondered how many miles and where did he go that day.

Jerry was such a knowledgeable man, very determined and with a strong opinion on most things!  In recent years I was so impressed by his determination to look after his health.  His daily walk routine was an inspiration to me and others.  I think about him now as I go for my daily hour-long walks during lockdown.  Determination and confidence  are the two things which stand out for me about Jerry.  I had many happy days with Karen and Jerry in their lovely house and by the pool.  I am thinking of you, Karen,  Rest in Peace, Jerry.  You will be very missed by all of us.  Mary. 

So much to say about this wonderful, colorful man!  

Jerry brought every family gathering to light with his opinions and perspectives on everything from politics to engineering to international affairs.  Over the years I think there was no topic in current affairs which I did not discuss with Jerry and I loved the way he challenged my assumptions and provided new perspectives.  

However one of my strongest and fondest memories of Jerry was watching a good part of the 24 Hour Le Mans with him around 15 years ago.  His commentary on the cars and the drivers was so information and instructive.  I had a wonderful time listening to him and learning about the sport and its ups and downs.  

We will miss you, Jerry, for your company, conversation and deep laugh.  We will keep the world safe for you from China, and every time I see a performance sports car on the road, I will think of you.  

Rest in Peace my friend.  You will last in our memories.   

     I have known Jeremy since we went to Northwood Preparatory School in 1953  near London , we both had a technical leaning , making Crystal Set Radio Receivers , moving on to bigger toys like MG & Jaguar sports cars.
     I remember when Jerry was at his Boarding School ( in some ancient UK Stately Home conversion) , he over-filled the bath and came crashing through the floor into the teaching staff kitchen , still in the bath with his sponge in his hand !!!
     I shall always remember his 'he he he' shoulder shaking laugh !!!

Jerry and Karen stayed with us for a night on their trip back to the UK in 2013.  I took Jerry for a blast in my old Jaguar which he had known from when we were young and foolish in the 1960s.  He absolutely loved it.  Most people would have been a little nervous, not wearing seat belts and travelling at excessive speed but not Jerry, he just wanted me to go faster.  It’s been a privilege to have known him.  

Jerry, the one and only Jerry... One of the world's most interesting men...
For 20 years you have never ceased  to amaze us with your knowledge, humor and true gentlemanly state of mind.   You had a special way to show the rest of us how to scientifically look at things that we would have never thought of.  I have called you the man with everlasting lives and now one last time I will be thinking of you walking new corners of the universe where you will be everlasting in spirit with all sorts of new dimensions to explore.  Thank you and Karen for sharing your lives with us.  We will always remember you with your infinite determination, strength and wisdom. We are honored to have known you. We will miss you my friend.

A better pal than Jerry others could only dream of ever having known.
 Humour, modesty, kindness, engineering talent, enormous brainpower,  confidence, love of life, boundless energy, infectious enthusiasm , and above all courage are  qualities that Jerry had throughout his life. 
Jerry paid a major and pivotal role in my life.
I moved to Northwood in 1960 and within days I met Jerry and a number of his close  friends. It is a true reflection of our friendship that 60 years on we are all still the best of  pals. In 1964 Jerry and I started competing in various motor racing  speed events ,I a young scientist working at Kodak and Jerry a key member of the BBC Special Effects Department. Jerry racing his ultralight Rochester Olympic and me an ex works Jaguar XK 120.   We spent the next five years of every available minute repairing and   building cars  including the  famous " Purple Pop"  drag race car, and Jerrys superb Diva 10 F .
In 1969  after five years of spending virtually   every minute of our spare time together   I became  engaged  to Kate  and Jerry ceased racing.
 Not long after we  started our own separate businesses Jerry leaving the BBC and I a little later  leaving Kodak.  Jerry‘s business grew from his skill and enthusiasm with fibreglass components  which he  positively revelled in  whilst it made me itch like I can't describe! Otherwise I believe we would have remained as business partners. Jerry‘s business grew and grew and eventually he emigrated to Florida  with Karen and started a new and most happy life.
 In recent decades we once  more became really close with frequent phone calls ,visits to each other and  meets with  the "Northwood old Boys" recalling and recognising what fantastic times we had had together.
 Jerry will be sorely missed  by all who are fortunate to have known him and I am truly  proud and humbled to have known  Jerry and to have  had a life driven by confidence inspired by Jerry.

Dear Karen and James  Our last meeting together was when you visited us in France and stayed with us for a few days.We saw James at a wedding reception,we send our heart felt condolences at this sad time and have super memories to treasure.The lasting memory of Jerry to us is his infectious laughter,he cried real tears!!!He loved a good joke and sent me a special that still has many people asking for a copy,ie the gentlemen story celebration of their ,40,50,60,70,and 80th birthdays at weatherspoons in Uxbridge,hilarious and clean !!!!Our

So many wonderfull memories of my dear friend Jerry or Cluso as I used to call him, that are to numerous to mention.
One however springs to mind, whilst out boating with a bit of waterskiing thrown in, we stopped at one of our many haunts for lunch. Jerry/Cluso decided to have ketchup with his meal. He shook the bottle which had an insecure lid, the contents of said bottle sprayed over me. 
That was NOT the reason I called him Cluso........... that is another story.
We will miss you Cluso more than words can ever say.

Jerry was a wonderful man. He always had something interesting to add to any conversation and he was always willing to share his vast knowledge. His Love for Karen was always evident. I will miss his conversations, his warmth and his smile..

Dear Jerry! I am so glad that I saw you and Karen a very last time in December after this contact free year 2020,  sitting in the sun at the dock and having a great talk like in good old times.  We have been friends for more than 20 years now and although I missed the wedding ceremony  itself  I made it for the party straight from the airport, with many parties to follow.
For me, you were my walking encyclopedia. If I wasn't sure what to think about something, I asked you. And I still have to chuckle when I hear your voice after your very detailed answer to my question: "You have aaasked". Your dry British humor was unbeatable and it was always interesting and fun being in your company. I will dearly miss you!

1968: A week log  camping, boating,  road trip, from Rickmansworth, England, driving through the Pyrenees mountain's to Tarragona, Spain. 
His Jaguar towing a runabout boat and me in my 1966 Corsair GT. We both had our cars filled with kids our age. Jerry ran out of Petrol and I drove back to the border of the Pyrenees mountains to get fuel only to Find the Border  closed.  We camped on the side of the road hearing the wolves howling in the night.

My most vivid memory of Jeremy is watching him beside his beautiful wife, Karen, during our Fibro support group, eager to participate in gaining knowledge about how to assist his wife while she experiences this painful debilitating condition. What moved me most, was the fact that he was the only Husband, (man) there assisting his wife. It was clear to me that they supported each other in a loving marriage. I truly will miss seeing his relaxed smile and hearing his strong but gentle voice when he participated in our questions and answers sessions. May your soul rest in peace, my dear friend.
