Born August 7, 1940 in Coshocton, Ohio, the only child to loving parents, Samuel G. and Elizabeth J. Bell. “Butch” enjoyed his school years playing every sport he could, including baseball, football and basketball. A four year Letterman in high school football, he excelled at his favorite, baseball to which his parents and grandpa never missed a game.
He attended Ohio State University as a baseball player and remained a loyal “Buckeye” for life, as well as a FSU “Seminole”, his daughters' Alma mater. Those blessed to know him would say he was a warm, benevolent, loyal person who engaged all with kindness and generosity. His smile could light up any room. These qualities served him well in his career, which included Loan Office Mgr., Bank Branch Mgr. and Real Estate Broker. He proudly served his country in the rank of Sergeant/Spec. 5 in the United States Army.
A comic book aficionado and respected collector, his favorite days working were spent after retirement when he opened a Comic Book and Ball Card Collectibles shop. His love of sports led him to many years of coaching youth football and youth baseball, while his wife and daughters cheered the team on. His players' still call him “Coach Bell” and he has watched many of his young players grow into great men as he kept in touch and followed their careers and successes.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Janice of 57 years; two daughters, Lisa Bell of San Diego, CA and Kelley Bolin (Steven) of Cleveland, GA and three grandsons, Ryan, Brandon and Ty.
Glenn was an amazing husband, loving father, proud grandfather and a friend to all he met. The world will miss his smile, big heart and joy for life.
