Frederick L. "Fred" Engels, II

Frederick L. “Fred” Engels, II, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on October 24, 2023 at the age of 82. He was born on February 16, 1941 in Racine, Wisconsin where he grew up with two sisters and his brother.

Fred graduated from Sarasota High School in 1959. He worked as Oil Salesman with Quaker State and then started his health insurance agency FLE II, Inc. in 1991 until his retirement in 2018. Fred was actively involved in The Field Club and enjoyed boating, tennis and water activities, along with dining at the club with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Josephine Engels and his wife, Charlotte. He is survived by his two sons, Duffy and Michael and step-sons, Scott and Mark, along with eight grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Liana of Sarasota and Jessica for the care and compassion they showed Fred in his final days. The caregivers at Liana and Jessica were very attentive and provided enormous support and compassion.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Sarasota National Cemetery for Veterans on December 1, 2023 at 10:30 am, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
