Constance Bird-Wade, 92 of Englewood, FL, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born in Scranton, PA, in 1932, Connie resided in Newark, Maplewood, and Basking Ridge, NJ, before relocating to Florida in the mid-1980s. She dedicated many years to Columbia High School in Maplewood before establishing her own business in Florida.
Connie was a deeply loving, involved, and devoted mother, wife, and friend. Renowned for her incredible culinary skills, her passion for gardening, and her talent for crafting, she enriched the lives of those around her.
She is survived by her husband, David Wade, 93; her children, Bruce McCarthy Jr. (Kristin), Kevin McCarthy, Jill McCarthy, and Melissa McCarthy-Smart (Todd); her grandchildren, Samantha DeBias (Nick), Brianna, Madison, and Calli; and her great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Brody. Connie will be profoundly missed by all who loved her.
