Claire was a teacher and administrator spending her entire career in Queens at District 25. Before her retirement she had advanced technology within the district.
She enjoyed so many things in life but her garden and cooking were two of her biggest passions.
Claire was a woman with a big heart who left a lasting impression on so many people - everyone will remember her smile and her sense of humor.
One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by those she loved and knew.
Along with her husband, Joseph, she is survived by her brother Anthony Venneri, her nieces Tara and Gabrielle, and great- nephews Craig, Daniel, Thomas and Christian, two step daughters Joanne and Christine and six step grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be celebrated March 1, 10 am, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Venice followed by inurnment at Sarasota National cemetery at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude.
