Anne Marie Sarnocinski Aaron, born April 7, 1935, died peacefully on May 21, 2016 in Sarasota, FL surrounded by her husband and children. Preceding Anne in death were her parents, Stanley and Mary (Zadylak) Sarnocinski of Chester, PA, her brother, Edward Sarnocinski (Monica), and five sisters: Mary Sarnocinski, Stella Butakis (Stanley), Helen Robison (James), Elizabeth Brady (Frank), and Jean Morphet. Anne is survived by her ever-loving husband of 54 years, John Aaron, Sr. and her children: Andrew Aaron (Judith), John Aaron, Jr., both of Wilmington, DE, and Diane Aaron Hagan (Daniel) of Sarasota, FL. Anne is also survived by five beloved grandchildren who treasure her and call her Nannie: Andrew, Abigail, Anne, Nathaniel, and Evelyn, a brother-in-law Norman Morphet, and nieces and nephews who love her as Aunt Nannie. Anne graduated from St. Hedwig Parish School in Chester, PA and Notre Dame High School in Moylan, PA in 1952. She worked for Scott Paper Co. in Philadelphia before dedicating herself to raising her children. She returned to work for the DuPont Co. in Wilmington, DE in 1979 where she worked hard and broke through, becoming a sales executive. She then worked for TA Instruments in New Castle, DE until she retired in 2000 after having built an illustrious career. After retirement, Anne and John traveled extensively, did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels, and attended grandchildren’s school performances, recitals, and sporting events. Anne had exquisite taste and an extraordinary sense for fashion and style. She loved to shop for and wear beautiful things. Home-cooked, Sunday dinner at Nannie and Pop’s (with china and linen) was always a given, always delicious (even with burnt rolls), and always welcome to last minute bring-alongs. Anne and John moved to Sarasota in 2009 to be near their daughter and enjoy the weather. They spent every summer of their married life in Stone Harbor, NJ with extended family. They were parishioners of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Wilmington, DE and St. Patrick’s in Sarasota. Anne’s life was happy and her love was plentiful and strong. She spread it generously to all who were lucky enough to know her. Genuine love and living a life with ordinary grace are her great, lasting legacies and what she will be remembered for most of all; that and a song to go with any occasion. We loved her “A Bushel and a Peck”. Her grandchildren loved being in her company and were delighted when she would create a song out of any comment or situation. The family would like to thank the skilled and loving caregivers of Tidewell Hospice and at Autumn of Sarasota where Anne resided her last year as she gracefully adapted to life with Lewy Body Dementia yet continued to collect friends drawn to her kind heart and gentle spirit. To know her truly was to love her! In lieu of flowers, donations to your local Hospice organization would be appreciated. All are welcome to a celebration of Anne’s life at a Memorial Mass at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Wilmington, DE on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00.
