

Annamarie Punzel-Wagner, age 73, Englewood, FL. went to her Lord in Heaven on Thursday, May 22, 2025, after her 11 year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis (PF)-Interstitial Lung Disease at Englewood Hospital in Englewood, FL. She was born in Watertown, WI on August 21, 1951. She is the daughter of Herbert & Lila Helle-Punzel, Jefferson, WI.
She met Rick in 1967, both were Jefferson high school students at the time. Rick was Class of 1970, Annamarie class of 1969. She continued her studies at UW-Wisconsin, Eau Claire University for 1 year, then finished her education at Madison Area Technical College, Madison, WI with a Medical Technology Degree. She worked as a Medical Technologist in several places in Madison, WI. She later got her B.S. Degree from Madison Technical College while working. She was a Member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists in 1989. She married her high school sweetheart Rick Wagner, Sullivan, WI on September 3, 1971, almost 54 years ago. Both lived in Madison, DeForest & Marshall, WI until they moved to St. Charles, IL in 1993. Then moved to Oswego, IL, then the Del Webb Community in Shorewood, IL from 2010 to 2022. They moved to Englewood, FL late December 2022.
Annamarie & Rick loved to travel and in 2008 they traveled all around the US with their dog Izzy. Her Grandchildren were her pride and joy along with parties with relatives and Del Webb friends. She belonged to the Shorewood Entertainers & had many public performances with Rick and others in the Group. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church of SW Florida, Port Charlotte, FL
Annamarie is survived by her husband, Richard (Rick) Wagner, Englewood, FL; daughters, Reanne Spalla, Romeoville, IL, and Lacey Wagner, Plano, IL; grandchildren, Lila Spalla, Lisle, IL, and Toby (T-Bird) Spalla, Romeoville, IL; her older sister, Shirley Lehman (91) Ft. Atkinson, WI; her niece, Debra Lehman-Metzker, Englewood, FL; nephews, Dennis Lehman, Jefferson, WI, James Punzel, Yelm, WA, William Punzel, Edgerton, WI; and sister-in-law, Linda Punzel, Jefferson, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert & Lila Helle-Punzel; 3 brother, Eugene, Robert & William Punzel all from Jefferson, WI.
Annamarie chose to be cremated. Celebration Services will be held in her honor on June 21st, 2025 at 11:00AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church located at 1379 S McCall Rd, Port Charlotte, FL 33981 and also on June 29th, 2025 at 1:30PM at American Legion Hall, 9054 E Veterans Pkwy (Route 24), Yorkville, IL 60560.
