Beverly Ann Erck passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 89. Born on July 2, 1936, in Deadwood, South Dakota, to Vernon and Ruby Barnett, Beverly lived a life defined by service, compassion, and love.
Beverly was proud to have been a teacher for much of her adult life, dedicating herself to educating and nurturing young minds. Her passion for helping others extended far beyond the classroom. She spearheaded the Breakfast at Trinity ministry with her church in California, where she served meals to the homeless and less fortunate in the community. Even after moving to Texas, Beverly continued her charitable work as an avid crocheter, creating sleeping mats for the homeless—a testament to her unwavering commitment to caring for others.
Throughout her marriage to Gary, Beverly embraced a life of adventure and travel. Together, they lived in many places around the world, creating memories that remained dear to her heart even as other recollections faded. She often reflected on these experiences with joy, frequently saying that she "loved her life."
Beverly is survived by her two daughters, Allison Haught of Virginia and Amellia Massey and her husband Joseph of Texas; her brother Donald Barnett of Colorado; four beloved grandchildren, Delaney, Lily, Teagan, and Molly; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary, her sister Jeannine, and her parents Vernon and Ruby.
Beverly's legacy of kindness, service, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her generous spirit and dedication to helping others serves as a reminder of the profound impact one person can have on their community and the world.
A virtual memorial service will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends when arrangements are finalized.
