She was born in England Shakespeare country. The oldest girl in a family of nine Shakespeare’s influence was prominent in her early education by memorization of many speeches some of which she could still recite up to the time of her death. She was also active in stage performances, often visited the famous Shakespeare theater in Stratford-upon-Avon to watch the professionals perform. She trained as a nurse in Worcester during the war years and was proud to have assisted many of the Dunkirk wounded. She immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1955 where she met her husband in training for ophthalmology now deceased.
He became a renowned professor of ophthalmology. They traveled extensively around the world, lecturing and operating also doing volunteer work for Care/Medico in Africa.
She is survived by daughter Sonja, and wife Rosaline along with two brothers in England.
