

Teofilo Eloy Fermin from Apollo Beach, Florida received his angel wings at 7:36 PM on September 11, 2025, at the age of 84.
He is proceeded in death by his Parents- Mother- Ana Amantina Betancourt Fermin and Father - Jose Eloy Fermin Reyes and Siblings - Luis Armando Fermin, Jose Ignacio Fermin, Guaro Cuya, Jose Eloy Fermin, Patria Dominicana Fermin, Vivian Dignora Fermin, Aide Colombina Fermin.
Born on January 31 of 1941 and raised in Villa Gonzalez, a Providence of Santiago, Dominican Republic, Teofilo, otherwise known as Teo, grew up on a farm and tobacco plantation, and was the youngest of seven children. He received his eighth grade education and then felt the need to help his family with the work that needed to be done around the farm. Years later, he enrolled in a business school with his cousin and took up accounting and business courses. He earned high grades as he was dedicated to his studies.
At the age of 21 he came to where else, but New York seeking a new life of opportunity. Immediately he enrolled in evening English classes.
A few years later, he met the love of his life, Frances Morales and were married in Puerto Rico on July 10, 1965.
Teo worked so hard at learning the English language and eventually became a route supervisor of Route Messenger Service, which serviced doctors and dentists throughout New York and neighboring states. He retired after 35 years with this same company at the age of 62.
Upon retirement Teo and Frances moved to Florida seeking refuge from the harsh winters in New York they sold their house and rebuild a retired life together in Apollo Beach Florida since 2003.
Throughout the years Teo was always known as the life of the party and was always expected to bring his guitar and entertain everyone at the party. Oh, and how he enjoyed this so much!
Upon his retirement, his favorite thing to do six days a week early in the morning was to hit the gym and then he could start his day. He met so many friends there as he never met a stranger and would talk to everyone.
He is survived by his precious wife, Frances Fermin, daughter Ivette Holaway and husband Steve, son Dennis Fermin and wife Stacey, and grandchildren Ted and wife Kelly Fitzgerald, Cristalyn and husband Matthew Varnado, Jacqualine Fermin, Lorenzo Fermin, Gabriel and his wife, Eilen Fermin, and Enrique Fermin, and many cousins and nieces and nephews back in his home country of Dominican Republic. His one cousin here in Florida is Mineta and husband Ismael Fernandez, and his one nephew in Florida is Salvador and wife Vianca one niece in Florida is Marianela Fermin.
A mass for Teofilo Fermin Is scheduled For Wednesday, October 15,at Nativity Church at 705 E. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, FL 33511.
With the Celebration of Life to follow at National Cremation Society at 308 E. College Ave., Ruskin, FL 33570

A mass for Teofilo will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Nativity Catholic Church, 705 E Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511. Following the mass will be a celebration of life from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at National Cremation & Burial Society Ruskin, 308 East College Ave, Ruskin, FL 33570.
