Peter R Teasdale

Peter began his life in Leeds, England on February 12th, 1941 to John and Ruby (Sumner) Bradbury. He later moved to Nova Scotia and then on to the United States where he was adopted by Ruby’s second husband David Teasdale.

He called many places home before meeting his first love, Marilyn Bain, in Nova Scotia in the early 60s. They married in 1964 and moved to North Carolina when he began his career in the United States Army. Shortly after, they celebrated the birth of their first-born Kimberley. Two years later they completed their family, welcoming Robert into the world.

Peter graduated from the University of Rhode Island before entering the US Army as a 2nd Lt with the Special Forces. He was a para trooper, completing over 100 jumps. He proudly served his country, earning a Purple Heart during one of his two tours in Vietnam.

After eight years serving, he settled his family in Virginia and went on to obtain his MBA. Peter owned several successful small businesses and faithfully supported his beloved wife in her own entrepreneurial venture.

Peter was a stoic man who enjoyed telling stories about his military experiences to all who would listen. He was always quick to smile, and his favorite saying was “unplug it and plug it back in”. He loved his children, grandchildren and great granddaughter.

He met his second wife after moving to Florida in the early 2000s. Peter and Adele loved to travel and spend time with family. During their 20 years of marriage, they enjoyed over 50 cruises all over the world together!

If Peter wasn’t traveling or playing a round of golf, you would find him in his recliner reading a book, watching sports or taking a nap.

Peter is survived by his second wife Adele Teasdale(Heverly), daughter Kimberley Legge(Sam), son Robert Teasdale. Grandchildren Breahnn Hindy(Andrew), Kieran Legge, Ainsley Legge, Annabel Teasdale, Elliott Teasdale. Greatgrandchild Ophelia Hindy.

Peter is predeceased by his first love Marilyn Teasdale (Bain), beloved dog Licorice, and parents Ruby and Dave Teasdale.

The family would like to thank Life Path Hospice for their incredible compassion and care during Peter’s final days. Anna, Pat and Sassy are angels are earth and their kindness and support will forever be cherished and remembered.

A private ceremony will be held later for immediate family. In lieu of flowers and cards, the family requests donations to Wounded Warriors, an organization that supports wounded veterans across the United States.
