

Michael Phillips of Wimauma, FL passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026 at the age of 73. He was born on July 11, 1952 in Knoxville, TN where he lived for a few years before moving to Florida with his family. He spent most of his life in Tampa, FL and graduated from Leto High School in 1970.
Mike worked for Hillsborough County School District for 39 years in the Heating & Cooling Department. He was an accomplished AC Contractor his entire life and was an inspiration for others to learn that trade. He started out as a Helper and was Manager of the Department before retiring.
Mike was a very kind and humble man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, hiking and riding his electric bike. Before getting sick, he never missed a chance to go on the boat to fish, scallop or a trip to the Keys. One of Mike’s favorite things to do was eat! He had his regular restaurants & even his own table at some of those. In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting one of his favorite restaurants and enjoying a meal for Mike – Ybor Grill in Ruskin, Thai Wasabi in Bradenton and Tuk Tuk Thai Fusion in Riverview.
He was preceded in death by His wife Judy Phillips and his parents.
He is survived by his children Brian & Christy Phillips, his grandchildren Nicole, Madison & Grant Phillips and Layla & Brayden Raimondi and his sister Linda Tyree.
Per Mike’s request, family and friends are invited to join his immediate family for a Celebration of Life at 5317 Bishop Rd, Wimauma, FL 33598 on his 74th birthday - Saturday, July 11th at 2:00pm.
