Mary Alice (Andresen) Janis of Tampa, Florida passed away on June 3, 2026 at the age of 94. She was born on April 22, 1932 in Salem, Oregon where she grew up. She graduated in 1954 from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
She worked as an elementary school teacher after a period of time being a stay-at-home parent.
She was actively involved in the various Methodist churches in Florida, with the last being St. Andrews of Brandon, Florida. Her hobbies included numerous handicrafts, genealogy, camping and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and her parents Marion and Hazel Andresen. She is survived by her children Neal Janis, Shirley Knapp and her grandchildren Andrew Janis and Rachel Knapp.
Our memories of her are of many travels across the United States and the numerous handmade items that she produced over her many years. Her final wish was the fulfillment of her staying in her home until the end. She is now at peace and can be forever with her husband and her parents.
