Joyce was the daughter of the late Philip and Ellen (Connell) Riley and was born in Arlington, Mass where she joined her 5 siblings. This Band of 8 were a happy and welcoming family. She was predeceased by her siblings Marion, Terry, Phil, Jackie and Paul.
Joyce was a long-term and valued employee of New England Telephone on Boston for over 30 years. One of her favorite activities was enjoying Caribbean cruises.
She was the beloved wife of the late James (Jimmy) Harrington with whom she shared 31 years of marriage until his passing in 2006. Joyce was the step-mother of Robert, Linda and the late Gregory.
Joyce is survived by her niece, Carol Snow, who was Joyce's companion and caregiver for many years. She is also lovingly remembered as "Queen Elaine" by the many nieces and nephews of the Gallagher, Snow, Riley and Walsh families. Auntie Joyce will be greatly missed.
