

Jeanne McLaughlin of Sun City Center, FL, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the age of 88. She was born on June 4, 1937, in Benton, IL, where she grew up enjoying time with family and friends and cultivating her competitive spirit. She honed her skills as a majorette, including performing at Soldier Field in Chicago.
She worked as a homemaker, raising her two beautiful children, Mark and Kelly.
She was actively involved in lawn bowling and competed in the 1996 Olympics in Georgia and again in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia. She was inducted into the Southeast Division Hall of Fame for Lawn Bowling in 2022, as well as the Lawn Bowling USA Hall of Fame in 2024. Her family would be the first to tell you of her true competitive spirit.
Jeanne was an avid traveler, taking at least 22 cruises and visiting multiple countries. Her family enjoyed her stories and postcards about her trips to South Africa, Australia, and destinations around the globe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edna Tennison; her first husband, John Dorchinez; her second husband, Oliver McLaughlin; her daughter, Kelly Dorchinez; and her granddaughter, Barbie White.
She is survived by her sister, Joann Perkins of Sun City Center,FL; son, Mark Dorchinez of Sun City Center, FL; nieces, Cindy Ulrich of Sun City Center,FL, Debbie of FL; nephew, Gary & Ann Perkins of Sun City Center,FL; grandchildren, John and Ashley Dorchinez of Morgantown, WV; Lia Dorchinez of Las Vegas, NV; and Kenny Rorke and his partner, Lori Vernelson, of New Bern, NC; Vanessa Cottelli of Cape Coral; as well as her great-grandchildren, Annabelle Croft, Kaliah Stephens, Kariahna Cottelli, Jaylah Morgan, Jayleene Morgan, Demarro Battle Jr, Deshawn Battle, Demarro Battle lll.
Jeanne was always the life of the party, and her family will dearly miss her love, her stories, and her presence.
The family would like to thank Empath Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Jeanne in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service at National Cremation, 308 E College Avenue, Ruskin, FL, on Friday, April 10, from 1–3 p.m.
Interment will follow at a later date at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102 Avenue, Bushnell, FL, where she will join her late husband, Oliver.
