United States Navy veteran James Charles Van Pelt passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the age of 72.
James was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Donna Van Pelt, and his brother-in-law, Thomas Noel.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda Snavely; his three sons, James Jeremiah, Joshua Jeffrey (Stephanie), and Christopher Gaston (Taylor); and his four grandchildren, Shane, Taylor James, Emersyn, and Logan. He is also survived by his sisters, Bonnie (Jim) and Delores; his sisters-in-law, Gloria (Randy) and Susan (Art); and several nieces and nephews who will remember him with love.
James will be remembered for his steady nature, his sense of humor, and the deep care he showed for his family and friends.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James’ name to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
