

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, the former Judy King, also of Bremen, and children Joseph of Woodstock, Georgia, and Leslie of Lithia, Florida; grandchildren Jordan of Athens, Georgia, Stefan of Dallas, Georgia, Louisa of Marietta, Georgia, and Joey of Lithia, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Ruth Leman, and brothers Richard and Daniel.
He graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. degree in accounting and finance. He served in the United States Air Force from 1958 until 1972. He served as an accounting and finance officer at Harlingen AFB in Harlingen, Texas.
Following his discharge, he worked as finance manager at Associated Investment Company in Tampa, Florida. He joined Chrysler Credit Corp. in 1965, where he served as branch manager in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Washington, D.C. In 1975, he returned to Fort Lauderdale and joined Sanchez Equipment Company as partner and comptroller. Upon sale of that company in 1983, he became a financial consultant and moved with his wife to Blue Ridge, Georgia.
In 1989, he established Mountain Valley Motors Chrysler Dodge Jeep Automotive Dealership. In 1993, he also owned and was dealer, along with his wife Judy, of Mountain Valley Ford. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Sarasota, Florida, in 2000. In 2018, he and his wife moved near their daughter Leslie in Lithia, Florida.
Throughout his life, he was active in many civic, religious, and political organizations. He leaves behind not only his family, but a lasting legacy of mentorship, charity, honesty, kindness, and the many lives made better by his example.
