Chris was born to Kay and Clinton “Tom” Thomas Snayd on December 30, 1970, in Glen Cove, New York. After separating from Tom Snayd, Kay married John Glenn and the family moved to Tampa, Florida, in 1980, where Chris went on to attend Hillsborough High School alongside brother Michael.
After graduating, Chris married Miledy Ayala and the two gave birth to Kailey Kristina Snayd on May 22, 1993. Chris and Miledy separated and Chris remarried Stacy Freeman to give birth to Paige Mckenzie Snayd on December 22, 2005.
On February 2, 2020, Kailey Kristina and husband Shad Genson gave birth to Chris’s grandson, Phoenix Sundara Genson.
Chris was a selfless person, whose greatest joy was from gathering with family and close friends for holidays, special events, and just because. He worked in many fields including healthcare, hospitality, and, most recently, within the entertainment industry as a lighting gaffer and stage hand.
Chris spent most of his life in Tampa, Florida, although he dreamed of travel and did, on one occasion go abroad to visit Ireland, his father’s ancestral home.
Chris loved camping and classic cars, stand up comedy, and smoking a turkey. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and a lover of antique Volkswagen Beetles. An in-your-face, honest, funny, charismatic man, Chris charmed all those around him through his quick wit and earthy sense of humor.
Chris is survived by mother Kay Sandra Glenn and stepfather John Ronald Glenn, brothers Michael Christian Snayd, and William Richard Glenn, children Kailey Kristina Snayd, and Paige McKenzie Snayd, and grandson Phoenix Sundara Genson.
Chris faced many struggles in his life, but he loved people more than most and remains in our hearts as someone who, through it all, did it his way.
