March 30, 1959 – May 11, 2026
Cathy Sue Taylor, age 67, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, in Sun City Center, Florida. Born and raised in Oneida, Tennessee, Cathy was a beautiful soul, a woman with a heart of gold, whose kindness, warmth, love, and laughter left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jerry Taylor and Dorothy Jeffers. Cathy is survived by her longtime partner, Robin Landis, with whom she shared 17 wonderful years. She is also survived by her uncles, Jack Jeffers(Carol), and William Jeffers(Pamela); her favorite cousin Linda Duncan(David) and cousin Michael Duncan(Joanne) and many cherished friends.
Cathy was a high school special education teacher for 25 years. Her students adored her because she strived to make each child feel valued, understood, and capable.
Cathy had a lively personality and a gift for making people laugh. Her warmth, humor, and playful spirit made her unforgettable. She was born a fan of Tennessee Volunteers football, men’s basketball, and the Lady Vols basketball team, proudly cheering them on wearing one of MANY orange tee shirts, hats, shoes, and even pants.
Music brought Cathy happiness and connection to her faith. She loved sharing that gift with others by playing the drums at church, and in a Christian band called Canaan. Cathy was always very involved with church until her health began to diminish.
Among the many loves in Cathy’s life was her beloved dog, Rudy. His love and companionship were a comfort to her. Rudy’s feline sisters Lani and Pookie were a comfort as well.
Cathy will be remembered for her compassionate heart, her unwavering devotion to those she loved, her humor, her faith, and the lasting difference she made in the lives of her students, friends, and family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always. May we all find peace in the knowledge that Cathy is at peace and resting in the arms of the Lord.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Updated service information will be shared once arrangements have been determined.
