Ronald Mark Slanina

He leaves behind two parents: Ron & Della (Miller) Slanina, of Naples, FL, two Sisters: Sharon (Peter) Terry, Diane (Tom) Schachner of Pittsburgh, PA, three Nephews: Ian Terry, TJ Schachner, Ryan (Carly) Terry and Niece: Sarah Schachner that loves him more than words can express. Ronnie also leaves behind too many family members and friends to list.

Ron grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from Shaler Area High School and Clarion University of PA. He had a love for singing and acting at a very young age; producing neighborhood home movies, performing with North Star Players and High School musicals.

While at Clarion University he performed in many musical productions also performed at Verna Leith Summer Stock productions at Cook’s Forest.

Following graduation he performed at the Shakespeare Festival at the University of Pittsburgh, Gargaro Productions - a Pittsburgh Musical Theater Co. and The Pittsburgh Playhouse.

Ron relocated to Los Angeles, CA to pursue his passion for the arts. He was a member of SAG - AFTRA Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artist since 1993. Family and friends will remember his performances on “Murphy Brown”, “The Drew Carey Show”, “Gilmore Girls” to name a few.

Ron also partnered with long time friend, Ron Carter to bring back live theater productions to The Strand Theater in Zelienople, PA.

Ron’s passion for the arts, his family and friends continued until he left us. May his great hugs continue to embrace us all. Ronnie was a bright light and is now a shining star.
