Jack was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Robert "Bob" Guy Spears & Fannie Elizabeth "Betty" Spears on Tuesday, August 13, 1940. He went to public high school in Indiana at Broad Ripple High School #717 (Rockets) and graduated in 1958. Jack continued his educational path in Indiana by earning his Electrical Engineering degree from Purdue University (Boilermakers).
Jack had the honor of working and retiring from Boeing (all Southern California locations) after over 35 years of service for the company and that of its predecessors (i.e. North American Aviation, McDonnell-Douglas, etc.) Throughout his time there, Jack had the pleasure of working on various & diverse programs such as the Apollo CSM, Minuteman III, DC-10, MD-80 & C-17 to name a few. Many everlasting, loving & lifelong friendships were created from his association with these companies. Jack fondly spent his working "retirement" years at Priority Metals Inc. in Orange, CA for the last 17+ years and up to his passing. He loved working and contributing there in the Accounting Department as a sort of "Jack of all trades, master of none" or "Gal Friday" capacity. He always looked forward to and absolutely enjoyed working there because of the family of people he come to love.
Jack was a Masonic member of the Palmdale, CA, Lodge (honoring his parents' allegiances), was only the 2nd man in all of Orange County, CA, (at the time) to be a Girl Scout Troop Leader (for his daughter's sake), and over the many years, he rarely held a leader position within the McDonnell-Douglas/Boeing Tennis Club Association, and that of his Motorcycle Club(s). Jack's interests, activities & hobbies were robust in nature and included the following: Practically all sports - participated in Motorcycle Racing, Tennis, Golf, Basketball, Billiards & AAA Baseball. He was an avid supporter of Purdue and those teams that represent his Big 10 Conference. He enjoyed traveling locally within the US and at times via camping trips, engaging in any and all types of trips, outings, activities or visits with family, friends & loved ones, working on any of his automobiles, compiling and listening to his music playlists, and absolutely loved reading or watching on TV anything to do with Discover, National Geographic, Smithsonian, Astronomy, & etc.
Jack is preceded in death of his immediate family by his Father (7/7/88) & Mother (12/21/03), "Bob" & "Betty" of Palmdale, CA, Son & Daughter-In-Law, Robert "Gregory AKA Greg" Spears (08/28/21) & Tammy Sue Spears (01/04/21) of Jerome, Idaho.
Jack is survived through the immediate family by his Wife, Eve Rachelle Adams-Spears of Corona, CA, Son & Daughter-In-Law, James "Bradley AKA Brad" Spears & Judy Moon Spears of Jerome, Idaho, Daughter, Vanessa Delene Adams-Spears of Mesa, Arizona, Grandsons, Robert "Bobby" Ray Spears of Portland, Oregon, & Tommy Spears of Las Vegas, Nevada and Granddaughter, Renee Spears of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jack has elected to be cremated without any public services; he did not want to be remembered this way and at a time where there is a lot of grieving. However, Jack did wish for a Celebration of Life gathering of all his friends, family and loved ones at a timing where the grieving process should be greatly diminished. With that being said, a planned Celebration of Life gathering will be held in approximately 6 - 12 months' time at McAulay Wallace Mortuary in Yorba Linda, CA; details will follow when appropriate. Jack so desired that all would gather together, share a bunch of memorable stories about him and have a great time in doing so.
Lastly and more importantly, Jack's last wish was to capture all the memories, stories, photos, video's & etc. you have to offer for the family through the attached Memory Book to this site. In approximately a year's time, everything on this site will be converted into a physical Memory Scrapbook Album for the family to enjoy. So please, please, please make contributions to the site as much and often as you would like, since it has a very robust capacity just for this purpose. This Memory Scrapbook is his way of helping us heal. On Jack's behalf, the family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all of you for making this happen for him - God's Blessings _/\_
