Steven H Selness

He was born to Harold and Helen (Dahl) Selness on November 19, 1955 in Decorah, Iowa.

Steve grew up on the Selness century farm in northeast Iowa. He was Baptized and confirmed at the Highland Lutheran Church. He graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1974. After high school, he pursued a career in Law enforcement where he served on the Spring Grove Police Department, Rush City Police Department and Minneapolis Police Department. He retired from the Minneapolis Police Department after several years of service. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed time on his boat on Coon Lake where he lived or at the family farm. Steve is survived by his brothers and sisters; Paula (Bob) Vogt, Karen (Alan) Erickson, Sunday (Renn) Deboer, Barb Lund, Gary (Kristy), Mark, Diane (Tom) Poirier, Eric, Rolf (Michelle), Caroline (Kevin) Posterick, Todd, Ruth (Dan) Sponsel, David and Wendy (Mark) Willner. As well as several nieces and nephews, Great nieces and nephews, and great, great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bert; a niece, two nephews, and a great nephew.

There will be a private burial service on July 2nd, 1 pm, at Highland Church.
