Age 72 of Maple Grove, passed away at home on February 10th, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvera (Canton) and David Strandmark. Roger is survived by his wife, Arlene; his two children, Kristie and Ryan; and his five grandchildren, Alex, Kamryn, Trinity, Jude, and Hope. Family meant everything to Roger. He was a constant presence in his grandchildren’s lives, rarely missing any of their events. Throughout most of his life, Roger was a respected businessman and employer in the construction industry, supporting his family on Union wages. Known for his willingness to help anyone in need, Roger's generosity left a lasting impact. The last five years were extremely difficult for both Roger and Arlene, as Roger underwent a double lung transplant and later required, but did not receive, a kidney transplant. Roger didn't let his struggles define him and he kept up the strength he was known for. Even when he wanted to give up, he didn’t. Roger was cherished by many and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will be held on March 16th from 1:00-5:00 pm at the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion Post #172, 260 4th Ave SE, Osseo, MN 55369
