Orville "Orv" George Castle

Orville George Castle (Orv), age 88, of Farmington peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 3rd. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 11th, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Farmington Lutheran Church. Visitation will be at the church two hours prior to the service.

Orv was born on November 24, 1934 in Faribault, Minnesota. He was the son of Nathaniel and Hazel (Moll) Castle. He was a 1953 graduate of Faribault High School. Orv married the love of his life, Shirley (Dahl) on June 25, 1955. They began their lives together in Minneapolis. He served two years in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. He then built their first home in Farmington in 1961. Later, he built their second home in Farmington and resided there throughout his life.

Orv was employed at Thermo King for 30 years and retired in 1996. He enjoyed many years making memories with family and friends.

Orv was a master builder. There was very little he couldn’t fix! His children and grandchildren benefitted from his skills. He was always there for others in so many ways!

Orv was preceded in death by his son, Dwan, parents, three siblings: Harvey Castle, Esther Vavra, and Donald Stadler.

He is survived by his wife Shirley of 67 years, two daughters, Dawn (Gary) Noehring and Debra (Robert) Biddick. He was blessed with seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter who were the joy of his life: Tommy (Jessi) and Julianna, Dan (Allie), Matt (Olivia), Kimberlie (Ty), Andrew, Jacob, and Jonathan.

He will forever be in our hearts and missed by so many!
