The family of James Evans Krey is deeply saddened to announce his passing on Thursday, August 6th 2026. He was born on May 30th 1934 in St. Paul, MN. Jim lived in Mendota Heights, Arizona, Inver Grove Heights and Vadnais Heights.
He lived a life filled with laughter, generosity, and love for his family. He touched the hearts of everyone he met.
He is survived by his children, Patrick, Shane, and Timothy (Dee) Krey; grandchildren, Luke, Olivia, Kate, Jake, Matt and Ben; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Krey, and parents, Hugo and Florence Krey.
A funeral will be held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at the Church of Assumption, 51 7th St W, St Paul, MN 55102, at 10:00am. Visitation will begin at 9:00am.
The family would like to thank the staff at the CLC and Hospice units of the Minneapolis VA hospital for their extraordinary care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family as all monies will be donated to the CLC and hospice units of the VA hospital.
Jim will be interred privately at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
