Ivan Castillo Islas

Ivan Castillo Islas, son of Aaron Castillo Medina and Martha Islas “Lopez” Castillo was born on March 11, Cuernavaca, Morelos Mexico. Ivan attended and graduated high school in Cuernavaca, where he grew up with his younger twin brothers, Emir and Yair, and his sister Yanira.

Ivan had many hobbies growing up including skateboarding, fishing, and hanging around with friends and family and simply being outdoors. As he grew, he continued this love of the outdoors, and loved to watch birds of all sorts. They amazed him at the freedom they showed with nothing holding them back. Flying on to their next great adventure.

In 2003 Ivan began his own big adventure and started the next chapter of his life as he immigrated to America. He settled with family in Richfield, MN. He loved it from the start with the large Hispanic population, friendly welcoming people, and small-town feel. He met his American “Brother” David there on the second day. He would spend the rest of his life here. He often laughed about his first meal eating out when he ordered a hamburger, and they asked if he wanted cheese on it. He had to ask his friend why they wanted to pee on his hamburger. It was then that he decided to conquer the English language, and he never stopped learning it and even ended up translating for people.

He went to work immediately in the hotel industry as a Maintenance Engineer and would go onto eventually oversee the renovation of two of the larger hotels in Bloomington and train many people over the years.

He met Betsy Mendiola, and they had a son Danny Aidan Mendiola Castillo. Many adventures were shared by the three throughout the years. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Ivan “Danny” wanted to make certain all his friends knew how much he appreciated them for everything they have done and been to him and looks forward to seeing everyone on the other side!

Iván Castillo Islas, hijo de Aarón Castillo Medina y Martha Islas "López" Castillo, nació el 11 de marzo en Cuernavaca, Morelos, México. Iván asistió y se graduó de la escuela secundaria en Cuernavaca, donde creció con sus hermanos gemelos menores, Emir y Yair, y su hermana Yanira.

Iván tenía muchos pasatiempos mientras crecía, como andar en patineta, pescar y pasar el rato con amigos y familiares y simplemente estar al aire libre. A medida que crecía, continuó con este amor por el aire libre y le encantaba observar aves de todo tipo. Lo asombraron de la libertad que mostraban sin que nada los detuviera. En 2003, Iván comenzó su propia gran aventura y comenzó el siguiente capítulo de su vida cuando emigró a Estados Unidos. Se estableció con su familia en Richfield, Minnesota. Le encantó desde el principio con la gran población hispana, la gente amable y acogedora y la sensación de pueblo pequeño. Allí se encontró con su "hermano" estadounidense David el segundo día. Pasaría el resto de su vida aquí. A menudo se reía de su primera comida fuera de casa cuando pedía una hamburguesa, y le preguntaban si quería queso en ella. Tuvo que preguntarle a su amigo por qué querían orinar en su hamburguesa. Fue entonces cuando decidió conquistar el idioma inglés, y nunca dejó de aprenderlo e incluso terminó traduciendo para la gente.

. Inmediatamente comenzó a trabajar en la industria hotelera como ingeniero de mantenimiento y, finalmente, supervisaría la renovación de dos de los hoteles más grandes de Bloomington y capacitaría a muchas personas a lo largo de los años.

Conoció a Betsy Mendiola y tuvieron un hijo, Danny Aidan Mendiola Castillo. Los tres compartieron muchas aventuras a lo largo de los años. Le preceden en la muerte sus padres y abuelos.

Ivan "Danny" quería asegurarse de que todos sus amigos supieran cuánto los apreciaba por todo lo que habían hecho y sido para él, ¡y espera ver a todos del otro lado!
